Kenya has long been a destination famous for its huge abundance of varied wildlife, including zebras, elephants and giraffes as well as the annual wildebeest migration and the diversity of bird life, both resident and migrant. ‘Mara’ means ‘spotted’ or ‘dappled’, a reference to the acacia vegetation which dots the savannas where the Masai live. Still resident, many Kenyan tribes have not been influenced by western culture, with their herds of cattle in this unique setting.
