Where can you go with Active Walking Trips? To the ends of the earth! Ok, well not quite to the ends – yet. But, let us point out several of the fun experiences you will have when you travel with us:

  • Explore the stone villages of the Dordogne area in France and enjoy wonderful cuisine and French wines each day.
  • Break out your walking stick and wander the verdant paths of the lush hillsides in Ireland as you meander through fields of sheep and low lying stone walls leading to ancient Celtic ruins.
  • Explore Roman roads from the Medici era in Tuscany and outside of Rome while you relax each night at your villa enjoying homemade cuisine and crisp glass of Chianti.
  • From the majestic mountains to the valleys and then the beaches, explore the north island of New Zealand like no other tourist. Your walk will take you through private trails and secluded Aboriginal villages.
  • Hike on ancient Inca trails to lodges that are only accessible to your walking group. Explore the famed city of Machu Picchu. This is a magical walk with ample chances to see llamas and the majestic condor over the high mountain plains. Alternatively, families will enjoy the multisport lodge option in Vinak, with the chance to ride the smooth gaited Paso Fino, mountain bike or hike for miles on end.
  • Enjoy the wonderful chocolate of Switzerland after an adventurous day of hiking in the Alps and exploring glacier caves in the shadow of the mighty Matterhorn.
  • Staying closer to home, walk the hills, fields and woods of the famed Hudson River Valley in New York. This is the area of the mighty Hudson River, celebrating the anniversary of the 400 years since its discovery by Henry Hudson and home to many acclaimed mansions and vacation homes from early industrial pioneers.
