Italy's Amalfi Coast Walk - The Paths of the GodsCapri. Positano. Pompeii. And of course Amalfi – all of these villages evoke images of villages nestled on steep hillsides overlooking the turquoise waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. These incredible and historic towns are as stunning from the ground level as they are when you look down upon them from up in the hills, truly a place where history can be seen today, much like it was a few hundred years ago.

An easy flight to Naples, you may want to consider coming in a day or so early to relax and soak up some of the incredible sights and flavors of this key city which in Greek mythology was built where the Siren Parthenope was washed ashore after she was rejected by Odysseus. Filled with palaces, churches, convents and monasteries, as well as a National Museum that houses many of the artifacts from Pompeii and Stabiae – it is a fun and compact city to explore on foot – a great way to stretch your legs prior to beginning your organized trek.

The walk on offer in Amalfi offers you a wonderful sampling of some of the key natural elements in the area – removed from the regular tourist routes and sight seeing folk. This town, once a thriving seaport rivaling that of Genoa and Venice has long been frequented by artists, aristocrats and those adventurous enough to make the journey over winding mountain roads, hence it’s nickname “The Paths of the Gods”.

During your week, you will explore the area the way the original visitors did – via old mule tracks, once the “highway” to this tranquil area. Hikes will be on paths with loose gravel and will ascend and descend to offer varied views of the town and ocean beyond. They will also take you back into the mountains and include a visit to a hidden energetic waterfall.

This week includes the following: 7 nights accommodation, 5 days of guided walking (pack lunch included), daily breakfast, 3 dinners, Italian and English speaking guide, daily transfers to/from the trail head (via SITA bus, the local transportation system), airport transfers at pre set time, all local taxes.

Note: the itinerary does not include 6 dinners or alcoholic beverages or activities on the free day.

Dates: Sept. 28 – Oct. 5, 2013
Rates: $850.00 USD per person in a shared room (Single Supplement: $140.00 USD)
