Iceland's Magic of the Mountains TourThe world is at your feet, with an average of three hours walking a day in some of the most beautiful parts of Iceland and with some longer hikes for three of your days on this walking tour. Some of the highlights include visiting the two National Parks of Þingvellir and Vatnajökull, the wonders of Landmannalaugar and Lake Mývatn, for its latitude the most fertile area in the world. There are waterfalls including the awesome and remote Dettifoss, the most powerful in Europe. The tour includes, weather permitting, a 3 hour whale watching cruise sailing from Húsavík and a glacial hike in South Iceland.

We will walk glaciers, take a boat trip on a glacial lagoon among floating icebergs, as well as soak in two incredible “nature” baths, to ease those aching muscles.

There is a lot to see but little to carry, as the tour bus will convey your luggage. Accommodation is provided in simple and clean hotels and guesthouses with private facilities. We will stay in a total of four hotels, which means less packing and moving. There will be a maximum of 18 people on your walking trip.

The dates below are for the actual days of the tour. We do however recommend taking a day or two before and after your trip to relax from your flight, and your trip before returning home. Please ask us for recommendations of hotels that we have some special accommodations with. We can often offer you a better fare for your flight to Reykjavik, please ask us before you book your flight independently. This walking trip includes nine nights’ accommodations, breakfast and dinner each day, and two picnic lunches when you are not able to purchase your own in one of the charming towns or villages we might be visiting that day.
